Sky launches Sky Arts, the first dedicated channel for the arts.
2001
The first Sky+ set top box goes on sale, giving customers the ability to pause, rewind live TV & record at the touch of a button.
2003
Sky reaches 7 million subscribers.
2005
Sky launches Sky Mobile TV, its first streaming service.
Sky launches Sky by Broadband.
2006
Sky launches Sky+ HD with 10 HD channels.
Sky becomes the world’s first carbon neutral media company.
2007
Sky launches Sky Talk.
2008
Sky signs a partnership with British Cycling to support all types of cycling, from grassroot community events through to elite Olympic hopefuls to get more than one million people on their bikes.
2009
Sky launches Rainforest Rescue, which raises £9 million in the following 6 years to keep 1 billion trees standing and increase awareness and education around the problem of deforestation in the Amazon.
Sky launches the Sky + App letting customers record shows whilst out of the home.
Sky creates the professional cycling team - Team Sky.
